Securing Your System with Super Anti-Spyware

Securing Your System with Super Anti-Spyware

When it comes to securing your computer there’s no such software called “perfect”. But we can make ourselves secure by selecting the right software to do the job. Even though all-in-one security tools makes our life easier, we can’t guarantee that you are fully protected. Hence, considering a separate anti-spyware solution is a wise move. This is where Super Anti-Spyware fits in.
You can download a copy from their official servers. There are four types of licenses and you select what suits best for you. In this review, we tested the “Free” licensed copy of Super Anti-Spyware. Installation process is a breeze and I can say that it’s the fastest installation I have ever seen to now in security software for Windows.
Once it’s downloaded it will ask whether you want to download the latest definition updates. By clicking on “OK” it will automatically update itself to the latest version. Downloading times may differ according to your internet connection.

Home Screen
The Home screen is clean and it gives you an idea of a control panel. It will show up as a regular application in Windows taskbar and it’ll appear in your notification list too. By right-clicking it you can access a bunch of different options and it’s really cool. The main menu gives you options such as Scanning for harmful software, scheduling, updating definitions, managing quarantined items and configuring preferences. It’s simple and easy to use.

Notification Icon and Options
It provides us three options for scanning. Namely, Quick Scan, Complete Scan and Custom Sca. You can also change scanning preferences in there too. We did a quick scan and for our suprise it was really fast! Moreover, it was effective enough to catch five different spyware hiding in our test system.

Preferences
Super AntiSpyware gives a plethora of options too. You can even customize the Real-Time protection. The other most important thing we noticed is that its system resource management. It took about 75MB from the RAM and the total CPU usage was around 40% during the scan. When it was in idle state it took only 676KB! It’s really a winner in that category.
Removing detected items and quarantined items is pretty fast and a piece of cake! In Free license they don’t allow us to enable real time protection, scheduled scan and automatic check for updates. & the real time protection finds everything even when you running regular scans.

Verdict
What we like: Detection and the speed is awesome. Low impact in both scanning mode and idle state, wide range of definitions, easy to use and pleasant interface. Portable edition is pretty handy too.
What we don’t like: Almost nothing except for the fact that it has no real-time protection in free license, but the pro version is well worth the money, we use it and we are really happy!
Overall, it’s real contender in its field and a worthy addition to your security software toolbox.
